On July 12-13, on the territory of the LenExpo exhibition complex in St. Petersburg, the https://sister-site.org/superb-bet/ fifteenth annual Russian international festival of fans of science fiction "Starkon" was held. Having grown from a mug of “star wars” fans to the Convention, joyfully receiving all the enthusiastic and involved, “Starkon” seems to be seriously configured to become a domestic analogue of the American Comic-Con. Whether it’s difficult to say so far-in this October, a real Comic-con will reach us, although it is not known whether the Russian branch of the famous American festival will be able to achieve the scope of Starcon like this with a schedule.
The exhibition began, oddly enough, from the line. The press, partners and cosplayers were taken away by a separate entrance, but ordinary visitors had a hard time. Other "lucky ones" waited for an hour until they were finally allowed into the pavilion.
The middle of the first day. After a day, it will become more free here, but for now you have to constantly be on the alert, so as not to accidentally fly into a stand or someone not to knock down. However, everyone's mood is raised, and few people pay attention to such trifles.
The man-tank at stretching Wargaming (one of the best costumes of the exhibition, by the way) struck a machine gun menacingly and took pictures with everyone. We hope he was not too hot.
The most popular exhibition stand is at League of Legends. Competitions and quizzes for fans were constantly held, and in rare minutes of lull, everyone could watch videos from the game and chat.
A real paradise for everyone who is fond of Lego. Unfortunately, they did not allow to buy a model of the Hermitage, so I just had to watch.
Meanwhile, not far from the tables with Lego gathered a huge iodine. We honestly tried to find out the exact number of details, but in the midst of the assembly no one bothered to count them. Anyone could sit next to the Jedi Master and try to assemble his masterpiece.
On the stage at this time, a defile of cosplayers took place. I especially remember Riddik, simply frighteningly similar to the original, as well as Dragon Knight and Legion Commander from Dota 2, who arranged a real battle in front of the audience.
Everyone could test Oculus Rift (under the watchful supervision of staff, of course). The line to the stand was huge.
Tired of Konurs and the contemplation of cosplay, could buy comics and merchandise, and then relax, falling apart in comfortable handbags-bags.
After the defile ended on the stage, Fantasy writers Dmitry Gromov and Oleg Ladyzhensky-to chat with readers and talk about creative plans. All presented books could be bought at a stand nearby.
A little great cosplay of Marvel Heroes.
As if by chance met Jesus.
We honestly do not know that the photograph of Howard Volovite is taking Russian cosmonautics at the stand, but, apparently, it is necessary.
By the way, about astronautics. On the second day, a meeting was held on the stage with the hero of Russia, cosmonaut Andrei Ivanovich Borisenko. He answered the questions of the listeners and talked about what you feel when you see the earth from space.
But these guys were better not to ask questions about the Earth from the cosmos. Do not joke with cosmodesant.
Decided to check their tactical abilities? Then you are a direct road at the Warhammer table. There they will explain the rules, and the figures will be given.
The joy of any connoisseur is the helmet signed by actors. Their vigilant officers of the empire guarded their nearby.
Nearby, a soldier put on the intricacies of prefabricated models dressed in Mandalor armor.
Wonderful Mario and Luigi.
Katarina from League of Legends.
Daryl Dixon on hunting. Fortunately, it did not reach the cut of captured ears.
Magikka wizard, alas, came without friends. Well, maybe next time.
In the very corner of the pavilion, hot battles in the laser tag passed. At least two friendship were destroyed before our eyes. The laws of the jungle, no matter what.
On the second day, in addition to the usual defile, each cosplayer on the stage was allocated a couple of minutes for a short performance. Many spectators gathered, and they finally began to award the participants with applause. On the first day there were problems with this.
Participants #gamesjamstarcon showed their projects. Unfortunately expected by many Breached I didn’t reach the exhibition, but one could look at the very curious VHS Story , Super Meteor Grid And Operation Juggerfall.
An example of fan love: a group of enthusiasts organized a stand where everyone could play in Artemis: Space Bridge Simulator.
Nearby it was possible to find Dalsin Rowe, sleepily playing Assassin’s Creed 3.
Anyone who wants to share their work with the world could portray something on specially designated tables. Your humble servant also thought to draw something, but when he saw all this beauty (and comparing with his arts), he looked down and moved away.
And finally – a little good cosplay.
Dragon Priest (or Dovakin in his suit?) and Ayla hunter.
Good old Xardas. It is always nice to see the cosplay of classics.
Great cosplay agent Kruger from the film " Elysium: Paradise is not on earth ". For such an exoskeleton you can give a lot!
Severe terminator. In the background, Tony Stark is discussing something with the soldiers.
Beautiful Jack from Mass Effect 3. By the way, the cosplay on the famous series from BioWare was not enough to offended. In addition to Jack, we managed to find only a simple tali – no Shepards and Garruses.
The most technically complex cosplay of the exhibition is the driver of the slaves Ktulhu from the Secret City Vadim Panov. It is necessary to give the proper to the comrade: to collect such a colossus and go in it for two days – the test is not for weaklings. From time to time the smoke came from the head of the drove, which caused eyewitnesses some excitement. However, we found out that it is necessary.
Assassins on Starcon this time was too much. We would leave only these two – we really owed well.
At the end of the exhibition, the masters of iodine managed to disassemble and assemble again, already in the form of such a "gentleman".

"Starkon 2014" was definitely successful, although there is still something to work on. So, for example, both days had problems with the pass and inspection of the guests, which is why decent jamming sometimes arose. In addition, it is better to separate the stands of shops and tables with games from the main hall.
Otherwise, everything turned out wonderful. The exhibition is growing and not going to dwell on the achieved. What will answer Comic-Con Russia? We will find out in October!
